The first of our three talks for this year will be on Tuesday 30th June 2026 at 5.00 pm in the Chapter House. The talk, entitled “It Really Did Happen Here!... Historic Events and People in Lincoln Cathedral Chapter House," will be given by Judi Jones who is a historian, educationalist and experienced Lincoln Cathedral guide with a passionate interest in Lincoln and its Cathedral.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Medieval and Modern History from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s degree in Local and Regional History. Judi taught History for many years in Lincoln and lectured at the University of Nottingham and Lincoln Bishop University. She has also advised heritage organisations through her work as a judge for the Sandford Trust. In 2024, she was awarded a Distinguished Honorary Fellowship by Bishop Grosseteste University. After the talk, please join us for a glass of wine or soft drink, nibbles, and informal conversation with fellow Friends in the beautiful surroundings of the 13th- century Chapter House, Cloisters and Garth (weather permitting). RSVP by email with the names of members wishing to attend to friends@lincolncathedral.com
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Members are welcome to bring a guest. For guests who are not members of The Friends of Lincoln Cathedral, we would suggest a donation of £10, which can be made on the night. Corporate members may bring up to two guests. UPDATE This talk is now fully subscribed-there is a waiting list for further applications.
Two further talks have been arranged for this year.
