Please Remember Lincoln Cathedral in Your Will
Making a Will or altering an existing Will provides an opportunity not only to provide a more secure future for your family and friends, but also to support a cause about which you care deeply.
In the present environment, nearly every Charity in the land is crying out for additional funds. If you are considering making a gift to Charity in your Will we very much hope that you will think of doing so to the Association of the Friends of Lincoln Cathedral (“The Friends”).
The Friends have been in existence for nearly a hundred years. Under its Constitution, they support the Cathedral through grants that help to sustain specific aspects of its worship and music, preserve its architectural heritage, and protect and enhance its future.
By working in close collaboration and co-operation with Lincoln Cathedral, The Friends have been able to provide valuable help and support to the Cathedral and its wider community over many years. This financial assistance has been very significant and it is of vital importance that we continue to raise sufficient funds to maintain and increase our support for the Cathedral in preserving this historically significant building for future generations.
In short, a gift in your Will to The Friends will provide much needed help to support Lincoln Cathedral and will be a valuable addition to monies raised through membership subscriptions, regular giving and Gift Aid. Furthermore, most donations to UK Charities are free from Inheritance Tax and therefore a bequest to The Friends in your Will should reduce the tax payable on your estate.
If you decide you would like to support The Friends in your Will, please speak to your Solicitor, or whoever draws up your Will, and ask that the Association of the Friends of Lincoln Cathedral (Charity Number 500272) is included.
If you would like to talk to someone in person about the possibility of supporting The Friends in your Will, we would be pleased to arrange a meeting to discuss in more detail how best you can meet this objective.
